Foothills / Sunland–Tujunga
Plumbing & tankless water heater service in Sunland
Sunland sits at the foothill edge of Los Angeles, with early residences and mid-century homes across the broader Sunland–Tujunga plan area. Plumbing here often reflects decades of additions rather than one original system. Before replacing a heater or opening a wall, it helps to establish which supply lines, shutoffs and drains were updated—and which are still serving the original house.
Tracing plumbing through an older Sunland home
An added bathroom or converted space can leave a mixture of pipe materials, concealed joints and older valves. Low flow at one fixture is different from low flow throughout the house; we check that distinction before proposing a repipe. Repeated drain backups call for locating the obstruction and inspecting the line when appropriate, rather than assuming every foothill property has root damage. Leon Plumbing is based on Sherman Grove Avenue in Sunland, so this is our home community.
A practical tankless plan for foothill properties
Moving a tankless unit to an exterior wall may free space, but the location still needs a compliant vent route, weather protection and service access. We compare actual simultaneous hot-water demand with the available gas supply and electrical connection. A maintenance plan should follow the installed model and the condition of the water, not a blanket claim that every Sunland house needs the same treatment.

via Google“I needed a service for a Rinnai tankless water heater for a tenant in Eagle Rock. I called Leon plumbing and was surprised that they could have a tech out in about an hour. The tech did a complete service for $275, which seemed somewhat reasonable, and a needed valve replacement for another $275, which (though steep) was at least done quickly. I would recommend them for speed, good communications, and quality of the work.”
