It can be suitable, but pipe condition matters more than age alone. We camera-inspect accessible portions of the line to look for cracks, corrosion, separated joints or collapsed sections before choosing a cleaning method. Jetting pressure and nozzle selection should match the pipe and blockage; a badly deteriorated line may need a different approach or repair first. Hydro jetting removes grease, scale and some root buildup, but it cannot rebuild damaged pipe. We explain what the inspection shows and why a particular method is appropriate.

We don't recommend them as a routine fix. Some products are highly caustic, can damage certain plumbing materials and create a hazard if the drain remains blocked. They also do not resolve roots, broken pipe or many recurring main-line problems. Never mix drain-cleaning products or combine them with bleach or other cleaners. If you have already used one, tell the technician the product and when it was added. When several fixtures back up together, stop using water and arrange a main-line assessment rather than repeatedly treating individual drains.
