Water Softeners & Filtration · Los Angeles & SoCal
Softer water. Longer-lasting fixtures. Better-tasting water.
Water softener installation and repair, whole-home filtration and scale cutters.
Southern California's hard water leaves white scale on faucets and showerheads — and the same buildup inside your water heater, tankless unit and appliances, shortening their life.
We install whole-home filtration, softeners and scale cutters, and keep them running with ongoing service, including monthly salt service for softeners.
Already have a softener that's stopped working? We repair existing systems too — resin, valves, timers, brine tanks and bypasses — and tell you straight when a repair costs more than it's worth.

Water Softeners & Filtration: common questions
What's the difference between a filter and a softener?
A conventional softener removes calcium and magnesium, the hardness minerals responsible for scale, through ion exchange. A filter targets particular substances such as sediment or chlorine, depending on its media and performance rating; not every filter removes the same contaminants. A salt-free scale conditioner is different again: it aims to reduce scale formation without removing hardness minerals. Many homes benefit from a combination. We match the equipment to your water concerns, plumbing and maintenance preferences instead of treating filtration and softening as interchangeable.
Will a softener help my tankless heater?
Reducing water hardness can help limit scale inside a tankless heat exchanger, supporting more consistent performance. It does not replace the heater's required maintenance, and the appropriate water treatment depends on the unit's manufacturer guidelines and your measured hardness. A salt-free conditioner also does not soften water in the same way as an ion-exchange softener. We review the water conditions, existing treatment equipment and heater requirements together, then recommend a maintenance and treatment approach suited to your system rather than promising scale will disappear entirely.
Do you repair water softeners you didn't install?
Yes. We assess existing softeners for problems such as failed regeneration, salt bridges, control-valve faults, leaking bypasses and worn resin. Hard water returning does not automatically mean the whole system needs replacing; settings, salt supply or a blocked component may be involved. Have the make, model and a description of the symptoms ready when you call. We explain repair-versus-replacement options based on condition and parts availability, and discuss ongoing maintenance so you know what the system needs after the repair.

via Google“I needed a service for a Rinnai tankless water heater for a tenant in Eagle Rock. I called Leon plumbing and was surprised that they could have a tech out in about an hour. The tech did a complete service for $275, which seemed somewhat reasonable, and a needed valve replacement for another $275, which (though steep) was at least done quickly. I would recommend them for speed, good communications, and quality of the work.”
